Guarantors are rarely used for Personal Loans in India because these loans are unsecured. Most lenders prefer co-applicants instead, whose income and credit profile are jointly assessed. A guarantor may not significantly improve approval chances unless the lender specifically allows it. Co-applicants are more common and effective.
